She Speaks Women, Power & Change Conference
November 16, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
What is SheSpeaks?
A conference for newcomer women, girls and trans people to meet each other and hear from inspirational leaders around creating social change and working towards economic justice for all newcomer and racialized people.
This is your day! It is a chance to come together with like minded women and girls, create new relationships and make connections based on the issues you are passionate about. There will be guest speakers, workshops, and networking sessions throughout the day.
What is it?
The theme of the day will be looking at SOLUTIONS and the kinds of choices we should make in our own lives, and political and economic choices society needs to make.
Why is it that newcomer women make less than Canadian-born women?
Why are we always the last hired, first fired?
Why is it we cannot find childcare?
What are we going to do about it?
What are we going to tell others what to do?
